Semana del Seguro 2026, in Spain, once again proved to be a privileged forum for reflecting on the present and future of the insurance industry. Over the course of three days, across multiple panels and talks, it became clear that the sector’s transformation is no longer purely technological, but deeply human and customer-centric.
The first day opened with a panel titled “Foro Alta Dirección Aseguradora”, which brought together executives from different insurance companies operating in the Spanish market. The discussion highlighted digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as critical enablers for bringing insurers closer to customers. The aim is clear: turn customers into loyal fans, evolve from “life insurance” to “insurance for life”, and anticipate needs by adding services that go beyond traditional coverage. The future lies in supporting customers throughout their entire journey and creating a positive, relevant and lasting impact in every interaction.
This was followed by a particularly inspiring talk on leadership and motivation in a context shaped by a limited attention span and information overload. Concepts such as human-centric skills, brain economy and GRIT stood out, reinforcing the importance of more conscious, empathetic leaders who can inspire teams in an ever-changing world.
The strategic perspective was further strengthened by other contributions. Topics included the change in paradigm within insurance sales, the CEO Agenda 2040, the emerging role of the Chief AI Officer, and the evolution of agents, from automation to autonomy.
The strategic discussion deepened over the following two days through panels and technical sessions featuring insurers, consultancies and specialised software providers. Core modernisation, the effective adoption of AI, and the use of open and modular architectures were at the centre of the debate. The cases presented proved how AI is already transforming software development, process productivity, new product creation and customer experience. There was broad consensus that the core of the future must be flexible, integrated, open and ready to address the challenges regarding security, scalability and talent attraction. This is no longer a theoretical future – transformation starts today.
This vision was unanimously shared by the leading market players at Semana del Seguro 2026 and is fully aligned with Cleva’s strategic direction, a journey that began several years ago and is now reflected in the concrete implementation of this transformation.

The Pan-European Personal Pension Product (PEPP) in Portugal Act No.1/2025, published on the 6th of January 2025, complies with Regulation (EU) 2019/1238, which establishes the Pan-European Personal Pension Product (PEPP), a pension savings scheme available across the European Union. The main goal of this product is to offer European citizens a complementary alternative to national pension systems, promoting portability, transparency and consumer protection.
In a time in which adaptability and efficiency are crucial for the success of the companies, the insurance industry faces its own challenge with the need to update its core systems to remain competitive.
